Montgomery, AL – Country Crossing casino developer Ronnie Gilley has filed court papers saying he plans to plead guilty in Alabama's gambling corruption case.
Gilley's attorney, David Harrison, filed court papers late Thursday afternoon saying Gilley will plead guilty based on plea negotiations with federal prosecutors.
Gilley was arrested in October on charges accusing him of buying and selling votes on pro-gambling legislation that would benefit his Country Crossing development in Dothan. Country Crossing has been closed for more than a year.
Gilley would be the third defendant to plead guilty in the case. His two lobbyists, Jarrod Massey and Jennifer Pouncy, pleaded guilty earlier and admitted offering millions of dollars to legislators to support the pro-gambling legislation.
