Montgomery, AL – A second legislator who helped the FBI has taken the witness stand in Alabama's gambling corruption trial in Montgomery.
Prosecutors called Republican Rep. Barry Mask of Wetumpka to the witness stand late Thursday afternoon.
The first witness, Republican state Sen. Scott Beason of Gardendale, wrapped up four days of testimony Thursday. Under questioning by a defense attorney Thursday, Beason said he didn't know why he referred to black customers of a casino as ``aborigines.'' Beason said that's not part of his normal vocabulary.
The remark has the chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party calling for Beason's resignation.
