Jury In Ala. Gambling Trial Returning Friday

Montgomery, AL – The jury deliberating in Alabama's gambling corruption trial has finished for the day and will return at 8 a.m. Friday.

The jury had to start anew with its deliberations Thursday morning in Montgomery because the judge excused a female juror for personal reasons and replaced her with a female alternate juror.

The jury has laid out a meeting schedule that runs through Sunday. Defense attorneys cautioned against reading too much into that. Defense attorney Jim Parkman said it may be that jurors are trying to arrange personal matters since they are sequestered and not going home at night.
