Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Board of Education has accepted the resignation of two-year college Chancellor Freida Hill.
The board voted 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon to terminate Hill's contract and to pay her $228,000 for the remaining time on her contact, which expires Nov. 30. Members met twice behind closed doors before taking the vote during a public meeting.
Earlier in the day, Gov. Robert Bentley said the board went into executive session Wednesday morning to discuss ``possible litigation'' with their attorney, Assistant Attorney General Bill Garrett.
Some board members have questioned Hill's leadership style and performance in recent weeks. Hill issued a statement Feb. 24 that said rumors she had resigned her position were false.
