Pelham, AL – An Alabama high school is putting its spring musical on hold after a New York licensing firm that owns the rights to the play refused to comply with the state's crackdown on illegal immigration.
Officials say Pelham High School's production of ``You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown'' is in limbo after the licensing company refused to submit a document required of firms doing business with the state or local governments.
A school spokeswoman says Tams-Witmark Music Library Inc. submitted the documents Friday following inquiries from The Associated Press.
Acting groups - even student theater troupes - must pay for the right to use scripts or risk lawsuits. The rights can cost at least $1,200.
Teachers are planning another show in case they can't pull off a deal for the play.
