Montgomery, AL – Alabamians hoping to vote absentee in the state's Republican primary runoff elections can now apply for their ballot.
Counties across Alabama are accepting applications starting Tuesday. The deadline to apply to vote absentee in the April 24 runoff is Thursday April 19.
The state's elections chief has not yet certified the results of the March 13 primary. Secretary of state chief of staff Emily Thompson says county political parties will submit the election results Friday, when they will be certified. Statewide and local candidates forced into a runoff will then be placed on the ballot.
In addition to local races, Alabamians will get to choose the Republican nominee for Public Service Commission president. Current commissioner Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh is facing off against former Baldwin County Republican Party chairman Chip Brown.
