Fresh Air Weekend highlights some of the best interviews and reviews from past weeks, and new program elements specially paced for weekends. Our weekend show emphasizes interviews with writers, filmmakers, actors and musicians, and often includes excerpts from live in-studio concerts. This week:

Tennis Legend Billie Jean King Puts It 'All In' Her New Autobiography: The book covers King's Grand Slam and Wimbledon championships, the "Battle of the Sexes," her activism for women's and LGBTQ rights, as well as some joyous and painful chapters in her personal life.

'Put Me On Blast': Kenan Thompson On 'SNL' And His New, Self-Titled Sitcom: The SNL veteran plays a widowed father on his NBC show. Thompson says being a dad and playing a dad on TV can be a whirlwind: "I'm living my character kind of 24/7 in a weird way."

'Nine Perfect Strangers' Is The Latest Show From The 'Big Little Lies' Team: Writer-producer David E. Kelley and actor Nicole Kidman have joined forces again to adapt another Liane Moriarty novel for the screen. Their Hulu miniseries is unorthodox and impeccably cast.
