APME-- Best Radio Anchor -- Alabama Public Radio "Pat Duggins"

On May 9, 2018, APR news director Pat Duggins' newscast included stories on a state lawmaker's quest to remove a statue of J. Marion Sims from the State Capitol grounds. Sims was a controversial pioneer of gynecology, who experimented on enslaved African women. Duggins also reported on a survey by Wells-Fargo on financial abuse among the elderly in Alabama. And, Apr's Alex AuBuchon reports on a project involving Auburn High School students to find photos of each veteran on the Vietnam War memorial in Washington, D.C.
