The Federal Reserve policymakers meet Tuesday to discuss short-term interest rates.
Most analysts expect the Fed the cut interest rates. The question is, by how much? An interest rate reduction would benefit new home buyers and give the U.S. economy a boost. But there is a fine line: if interest rates are reduced too much, it could scare off investors who see it as a sign that the Fed is worried about bigger problems in the economy.
