Did The Financial Press Miss The Meltdown?

When the financial bubble burst last September, it seemed to catch much of the country by surprise. Critics blame the financial press — publications like The Wall Street Journal — for missing the red flags, but that may not be the case.

Guests:

David Wessel, economics editor for The Wall Street Journal

Dean Starkman, assistant managing editor for the Columbia Journalism Review. His analysis of 727 relevant articles on the lending industry and Wall Street in the run-up to the meltdown is called "The List."
