Monica Nakashima
News InternMonica Nakashima was born and raised in Northport, Alabama, a 10-minute drive from Bryant-Denny stadium where she currently works for Alabama Public Radio as a student reporter. Monica began her college career after graduating high school in 2018 by attending Shelton State Community College. She then transferred to the University of Alabama in Fall 2020. She is a News Media major and English minor, and is planning to graduate in Spring 2022. In addition to her work at APR, Monica also is a staff reporter for the Crimson White, the University of Alabama’s student-run publication. When not focusing on journalism, Monica spends her free time drawing, painting, and browsing Twitter.
