Alabama Launching Garden Trail in March

mobilebotanicalgardens.org

The state Tourism Department is launching the Alabama Garden Trail.

Tourism Director Lee Sentell says his agency will promote public gardens in several Alabama cities through a brochure and website. The Alabama Garden Trial will include Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Dothan Area Botanical Gardens, Huntsville Botanical Garden, Jasmine Hill Gardens in Wetumpka, Mobile Botanical Gardens and Aldridge Garden in Hoover.

The Garden Trail follows up on other themed tours that the department has found successful, such as Alabama's Civil Rights Trail.

Sentell says visitors often talk about Alabama's beauty, and its public gardens are among the best examples of that beauty.

The official launch of the Garden Trail is set for March.
