Huntsville Toyota Factory to add nearly 500 new jobs

al.com

The Huntsville, Alabama Toyota Factory is poised to add 450 new jobs. Toyota said that the Huntsville plant will become the only North American manufacturer of engines for the 2022 Tundra pickup truck.

Employment at the Alabama factory will increase from around 1,350 to 1,800 employees. Toyota said that it plans to spend around $288 million on the project. The twin-turbo V6 engine is a completely new motor for the Toyota Tundra, which the company has produced since 1999.

Toyota is also currently constructing a factory west of downtown Huntsville where it will produce its Mazda line of cars.
