Turkey Hunt Raises Awareness, Funds

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Governor's One-Shot Turkey Hunt paid off big this year for Auburn University's scholarship fund. Governor Bob Riley presented Auburn President Ed Richardson with a 60-thousand dollar check today. Richardson went to the state capitol building to receive the money. About 70 corporate leaders and celebrities traveled to Montgomery in March to participate in the hunt. Event sponsorships raised money for Auburn's Lynn Boykin Youth Wildlife Scholarship. It's given to students majoring in wildlife sciences.
