Montgomery, AL – "Eyes Forward, Yet Looking Back." That's the theme of this year's 50th anniversary of the Montgomery bus boycott. The Montgomery Improvement Association formed in 1955 to organize the protest. It unveiled its anniversary plans Thursday at the Dexter-King Memorial Baptist Church. That's where a young Martin Luther King Junior was pastor when the boycott began. It's widely considered as the inspiration of America's modern civil rights movement. Anniversary celebrations will begin as early as next week and will culminate in December.
