Gas Still Scarce in South Alabama

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – State troopers say gasoline supplies are still scarce south of mile marker 57 on Interstate 65. Gas is also in short supply in many areas of southwest Alabama. The Department of Public Safety is urging motorists who are trying to travel to that part of the state to fill up their tanks before they get close to that area. Troopers also report I-65 south and other roadways heading south are becoming congested as evacuees try to return home. Travel delays are possible. Troopers are asking motorists to be careful and to be courteous and patient when sitting in heavy traffic.
