Montgomery, AL – Governor Riley has announced that he has created the Governor's Emergency Relief Fund to help meet the needs of Alabama citizens who are not covered by insurance or by Federal Emergency Management Agency claims. The Governor says the fund will help give citizens the extra help they need to get their lives back to normal and cover unmet costs. Grants from the fund will be awarded by a committee that's comprised of members from the United Way of Alabama, the state Emergency Management Agency, the state Department of Human Resources, county representatives and a member of the Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
