IRS Grants Extension in Six Counties

By Alabama Public Radio

Washington, DC – The Internal Revenue Service is granting extensions to residents of six Alabama counties -- Baldwin, Clarke, Choctaw, Mobile, Sumter and Washington. In a written release, the I-R-S announced hurricane victims will have until January third to file a return, pay taxes or make any deposits that are due. It extends the original deadline of August 29th. The I-R-S says it will do its best to automatically grant relief to any individual or business located in the disaster area. More information is available on its website -- I-R-S- dot - G-O-V.
