Mobile, AL – There is now a burn ban in Mobile County. Officials say the conditions for burning outdoors have become hazardous because of hurricane debris and recent dry weather. Fire authorities say residents in southwest Alabama should be very careful when burning anything outdoors, even in places where a burn ban is not yet in effect. They say there's an increased risk of wildfires. Forecasters say the weather will help relieve the dry conditions just a bit. A cold front is expected to approach southwest Alabama Friday. There will also be an increased chance of scattered showers throughout that area during the weekend.
