Riley Says State is Biotech Friendly

By Alabama Public Radio

Chicago, IL – Alabama's delegates to a biotechnology convention in Chicago are hoping to lay the groundwork for potential economic rewards. Governor Bob Riley says the BIO 2006 event is an opportunity for Alabama to promote itself as a potential player in the biotechnology world. He says Alabama's delegation met with several companies and discussed ways the state can attract biotechnology businesses. The governor says there have been no concrete deals, but he was able to get advice from others who have been successful in courting biotechnology companies.
