Birmingham, AL – Alabama will soon get its first public natural gas refueling station. A 30-thousand dollar grant to Central Alabama Clean Cities Incorporated will be used to create a compressed natural gas refueling station at the intersection of Eighth Avenue North and 31st Street in Birmingham. Governor Bob Riley announced the grant and says the station is an effort to help clean up the air in Birmingham. But the number of cars that can actually use the station is small because it's only useful to vehicles that can run on compressed natural gas.
