Sylacauga, AL – The governor spoke with employees of Avondale Mills in Sylacauga Thursday morning about the benefits they'll receive while they're out of work. Avondale is closing plants in Alabama and two other states. According to a written release from the governor's office, about two-thousand workers will be able to apply for the benefits. Some of them include up to 104 weeks of job training and income support and tax credits for monthly health insurance premiums. Governor Riley says workers can apply for the benefits at any of the state's Comprehensive One-Stop Career Centers. Information about those centers, including their hours of operation, is available online at service-locator-dot-org.
