Dothan, AL – Members of the Dothan police union want Alabama Attorney General Troy King to launch an inquiry of Police Chief John Powell. Union members reportedly don't like the way Powell is managing the department and sent a letter to King this week asking him to investigate. The nature of the complaints against Powell is unclear, but the International Brotherhood of Police Officers said one violation involved allegations of ticket-fixing. Joy Patterson, a spokeswoman for the A-G's office, said King had not received the correspondence as of Thursday. But she said King, as a matter of policy, does not comment on investigations.
