Alabama Soldiers Coming Home This Week

Luverne, AL – An Alabama National Guard unit's fifteen-month mission in Iraq ends Thursday. 130 members of Luverne-based 117th Field Artillery will be welcomed home in an early morning ceremony at the Kiwanis Building/Sports Complex on Alabama 55 in Andalusia. According to Lieutenant Colonel Bob Horton, a National Guard spokesman, the ceremony begins at 6 a-m. He said the 117th performed transportation and other missions for U-S and coalition forces.
