By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – Some two-hundred Alabama National Guard members are mobilizing for duty in Iraq and are expected to deploy overseas this summer.

Departure ceremonies for Ozark and Montgomery-based units called to active duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom will be held this week.

Some 170 members of Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion 131st Armor in Ozark, which has members from all units of the battalion, will report to Fort Dix, New Jersey, for training before deploying overseas.

The unit will have a send-off ceremony Wednesday at 3 p-m at Daleville High School.

A ceremony for some 35 members of the Montgomery-based 1146th Personnel Service Battalion in Montgomery will be held Thursday at 3 p-m at Fort Taylor Hardin armory. The 1146th will train at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
