Athens Grants Parade Permit to KKK

By Associated Press

Athens, AL – The city of Athens has issued a parade permit to the National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. The Indiana-based group plans to hold an afternoon rally on September 15th at City Hall to protest immigration policies.

Initially, Athens and Limestone County officials had rejected the Klan's application.

City officials said the Klan's event, set for 3 p.m., will not interfere with the annual Trails of Tears Motorcycle Ride scheduled for earlier in the day.
