Eufaula, AL – Wellstone Mills is closing its second Eufaula operation, resulting in the loss of 120 jobs. The plant that's scheduled to close produces combed ring-spun yard.
In July, Wellstone laid off 110 workers in its other operation. That plant that produced carded ring-spun yarn.
Company president Josh Hamilton blamed the shutdown on increasing imports of textile and apparel goods that eroded the demand for products made at the Eufaula operations.
He said the company will help employees apply for trade adjustment benefits.
Wellstone operates other plants in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Mississippi.
