Tuscaloosa, AL – Tuscaloosa County Sheriff Ted Sexton will join the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as Assistant Secretary for State and Local Law Enforcement. A state law will allow him to take a leave of absence from his post as sheriff, much like those who serve in the National Guard. APR News Reporter Gina Smith spoke with him about his new endeavor, and asked him what exactly the job will entail.
