Mobile – A Mobile pharmacy is part of a nationwide crackdown on illegal steroid distribution. Applied Pharmacy on International Drive has been under the microscope for possible illegal activity for years.
On Thursday, a Colorado physician pleaded guilty to withholding information about a conspiracy to write prescriptions for anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing substances.
Federal prosecutors allege that Dr. Scott Corliss would write prescriptions for his practice in Greeley, Colorado, and they contend the drugs were shipped out of Applied Pharmacy.
Now, Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Bordenkircher said there's more to come. He declined to mention names of athletes involved in the case. Bordenkircher said the feds are focused on the problem and not the national spotlight.
Corliss faces up to 3 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he's sentenced in May.
Prosecutors also said they expect to file more criminal charges against other doctors.
