Montgomery, AL – Motorists traveling Interstate 65 north through Montgomery will find it easier to exit Saturday.
The northbound exits for three major streets - South Boulevard, Edgemont Avenue and Fairview Avenue - have been closed since June 21 to add lanes and rebuild existing lanes.
The Alabama Department of Transportation says the work has been completed in less than half the time expected, and the exits will open by 7 a.m. Saturday.
State Transportation Director Joe McInnes says work on rebuilding the southbound lanes and interchanges is expected to begin July 25.
The project to rebuild and expand I-65 in Montgomery has a $100 million price tag.
