Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley is signing legislation that will make more types of businesses eligible for state financial help if they locate in Alabama.
Alabama's current economic incentives law covers manufacturing jobs. The bill being signed by Riley on Tuesday morning expands the law to cover corporate headquarters, research and development centers, and jobs in the emerging "green" economy.
Riley says the law will help Alabama compete for high-paying jobs. The Legislature approved the law in the session that ended May 15.
