Guntersville, AL – The Tennessee Valley Authority is once again killing weeds on Guntersville Lake.
The federal utility said in November it would no longer treat weeds along privately owned and commercial areas on the lake in north Alabama. But that decision prompted protests from property owners and area governments.
So the TVA said it would resume the spraying program. The first of two treatments began on Monday.
Next year, TVA said it will treat weeds only along the lake's public areas, including parks, campgrounds and boat ramps.
