Tuscaloosa AL – Bert Bank was a national war hero, a former state legislator, and founder of the Alabama Football Network. He passed away yesterday at the age of 94. Tuscaloosa News sports editor Cecil Hurt knew Mr. Bank for 30 years. Hurt says one of the first things to remember was that even though Bank had the gravitas to command a more dignified title he preferred to simply be called 'Bert'.
