Chickasaw, AL – Developers are preparing to open an electronic bingo hall with 25 machines in Chickasaw, and they say it will comply with state law.
The machines, called "Bama Hot," were demonstrated on Wednesday at the former Chickasaw Auditorium.
James Bridges, a Gulf Shores lawyer who launched MS Land Co. Inc. to open electronic bingo halls in Mobile County, says he believes the machines will meet the standards set by the state Supreme Court.
Gov. Bob Riley and Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Jr., the head of the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling, have promised to shut down electronic bingo halls around the state.
Tyson says his office is investigating the facility.
