Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley's gambling task force has won at the Alabama Supreme Court.
The state's highest court ruled Friday that the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling can challenge the electronic bingo games at the White Hall Entertainment Center in Lowndes County even if the attorney general doesn't approve.
The ruling is a setback for Attorney General Troy King's efforts to take over the task force's legal action against casinos.
The court said state law does not authorize the attorney general to control litigation by law officers acting at the governor's direction.
