Ala. AG Turning All Bingo Over To Governor

Montgomery, AL – Attorney General Troy King says he's turning over all bingo matters to Gov. Bob Riley.

King announced the decision Monday because the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that King couldn't take over the legal work of the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling. The ruling Friday was a victory for the governor in his effort to shut down electronic bingo casinos.

King says he's disappointed in the Supreme Court's ruling because it reversed past decisions by the court. He says the state constitution requires that he abide by the court's decision and he will.
