Death Toll From Tuscaloosa Tornado Rises

Tuscaloosa, AL – The Tuscaloosa mayor's office says three additional names have been added to the list of deaths in the town attributed to the April 27 tornado, raising the death toll to 50.

The people added Friday to the city's list are 98-year-old Helen Wurm, who died May 9; 78-year-old Colvin ``Corky'' Rice, who died May 13; and 81-year-old Ovella P. Andrews, who died June 5.

Authorities say all three people were residents of the LaRocca Nursing Home when the storm hit. They said that after discussions with their family members, they determined that their deaths could be attributed to the storm.
