On September 18, 2013, five hundred college students, teachers, and Tuscaloosa residents gathered at the University of Alabama for an anti-racism rally to protest events on campus that prompted national media attention. Two sororities rejected two candidates for membership, allegedly because they were African American. The rally formed at Gorgas Library, marched across the campus' central park and re-grouped at the office of UA President Judy Bonner at the Rose Administration building to demand reforms. APR news director Pat Duggins produced this sound portrait from the rally.
