Daniel Schorr: Compassionate Conservatism

Two years ago, President Bush's campaign platform focused on "compassionate conservatism," touting sensible welfare, healthcare and education assistance for the disadvantaged. NPR Senior News Analyst Daniel Schorr says many of those objectives have gone unfulfilled -- but now that Bush will be supported by both a Republican House and Senate, he will be pressured to produce legislation to help keep those promises.
