Two More Alabama Colleges on Probation

By Alabama Public Radio

Talladega, AL – Huntingdon and Talladega Colleges have both been placed on probation by their accrediting agency, which cited financial problems at both colleges. Huntingdon officials say the college has been battling its long-term debt for years, and it's not known exactly how much debt the college has. The officials are hoping to restructure Huntingdon's payment plan by 2006. Talladega's probation, meanwhile, comes just one year after the agency lifted its previous probation over financial problems. The probation comes after Auburn University's academic probation was lifted Tuesday. The University of West Alabama also received clear accreditation status Tuesday.
