Marion, AL – The Perry County District Attorney's office is investigating a high school student's claim that her ballot was changed in a recent special legislative election. Cynthia Davis says she was driven from her lunchroom to the polls by candidate Albert Turner Junior. The 18-year-old says she still tried to vote for his opponent but then saw a woman wearing a Turner campaign shirt switch her vote to Turner. Turner did lose to Ralph Howard in the vote on May 3 for the House District 72 seat. Turner admits that he drove Davis to the polling place. But he says she didn't tell him about any problems she had voting. Davis is a student at Francis Marion High School. She says she did report the incident to Marion police. District Attorney Michael Jackson says he has contacted state Attorney General Troy King's office about the allegations.
