Washington, DC – Former Alabama Attorney General Bill Pryor could be given a confirmation vote in the U-S Senate this week. Some of President Bush's judicial nominees are expected to come before senators under a recent compromise between Democrats and Republicans. Pryor holds a temporary appointment on the Eleventh U-S Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta. Tuesday, however, could be the day an Alabama native is confirmed to a federal appeals court position. California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown is a native of Greenville. President Bush nominated her for a federal court position, but her nomination has been blocked for about two years. U-S Senator Jeff Sessions is supporting her confirmation, saying it's long overdue.
