Birmingham Post-Herald Shuts Down

Birmingham, AL – The Birmingham Post-Herald issued its last edition today (Friday, September 23). The newspaper has covered Birmingham and the surrounding area since 1950. It has been the city's afternoon daily since 1996. But its owners decided the city could no longer support an afternoon newspaper, and the Post-Herald is shutting down. Jim Willis, editor and president of the Post-Herald, spoke with Alabama Public Radio's Butler Cain about today's final edition.
