Monday's Storms Cause Scattered Damage

Tuscaloosa AL – A storm system that swept across the state last night and early today left a trail of damage in several counties.

According to the National Weather Service and emergency management officials, widespread storm damage is reported in Hale County. EMA reports two people were injuries and dozens of homes and cars were damaged. Storm damage was along Hale County Roads 12, 10 and 16.

In Lowndesboro, a possible tornado was spotted just after 2 a.m. near Burkville. Several buildings were damaged, including a church.

Powerful winds also toppled power lines and uprooted trees in Dallas, Etowah, Bibb and Talladega counties.

Ground and aerial teams are expected determine the cause of storm-related damage in those areas today.
