Montgomery, AL – The president of a firm in line for nearly $13 million in no-bid state computer services work says the company relies on referrals, does its work on-site, and sees no perceived benefit in having a headquarters office.
Janet Lauderdale, head of Paragon Source LLC, commented Monday after Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Johnson urged Gov. Bob Riley to review the deal. He questioned giving the work to a business that lists a home in Virginia as its company address and is without a listed phone number or Web site.
Riley aides say legal advisers have found no problem with the contract and Riley is expected to sign it.
Lauderdale said she and another consultant did work for the state several years ago and maintained professional contact in getting the latest contract.
