Mobilians can get their grub on this week with a movable feast.

The Bay Bites Food Truck Festival is back in the port city with unique food and craft beer options. The festival will be hosted at Cooper Riverside Park tomorrow night from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will feature live music from Symone French and the Trouille Troupe and Harrison McInnis. The Mobile Bay Keeper hosts this event annually to raise money to test local swim sites for bacteria.

Communications Director at Mobile Bay Keeper Caine O’Rear said the event is important to ensure waterways are safe during the busiest swimming months.

“A lot of the money that is raised will go to our work testing swim sites around Mobile Bay. We test 14 different sites. These are sites in addition to what ADEM tests,” he said.

O’Rear also said this is an important time for the community to come together.

“A big part of this celebration is that it is a community event. At Mobile Bay Keeper, we really try to stress the fact that the protection of our waterways, it has to be a community effort. Mobile Bay Keeper’s really about giving the public the information and the means to ensure a healthy watershed,” he said.

The event is family-friendly and will have lawn games and other entertainment options for children. Tickets can be purchased online through the end of today.
