President Johnson and the Civil Rights Act

President Johnson is given credit for pushing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 through Congress. NPR's Tavis Smiley listens to historical tape of President Johnson and talks with Robert Dallek, professor of history at Boston University. Johnson is the subject of two Dallek biographies, the second one called Flawed Giant: Lyndon Johnson and His Times, 1961-1973.
