Alabama schools dismissing as snow predicted

Additional schools are releasing students in northwest Alabama because of the possibility of snow.

At least a half-dozen systems say they're dismissing classes early Tuesday as forecasters predict as much as 1 inch of snow. Just two systems planned to release students early initially.

Authorities don't expect any major travel problems. Forecasters say as much as 1 inch of snow was possible in northwest Alabama. A dusting of about half that much was possible in the eastern Tennessee Valley counties.
