Divided Supreme Court Rules on Wetlands Law
The U.S. Supreme Court rules that regulators may have misinterpreted the federal Clean Water Act when they refused to allow two Michigan men to build on wetlands they own. The 5-4 decision came after debate over whether government can extend protection for wetlands miles away from waterways.

Alabama lawmakers approve cut on state grocery tax
Alabama lawmakers voted to cut the state sales tax on food and to exempt diapers, baby formula and feminine hygiene products from the state sales tax altogether. The Alabama Senate approved both bills by votes of 34-0. The bills now goes to Governor Kay Ivey for her signature.
