Aimee Mann: Summer Books for the Road

We continue our summer reading series today, with singer-songwriter Aimee Mann. In the 1980s she fronted the pop group Til Tuesday. Her haunting ballad "Save Me," from the 1999 film Magnolia earned her an Academy Award nomination. Before she kicked off her summer concert tour, she spoke about the kind of book she'll pick up before leaving town.

Here are some of the books that Mann's been reading:

The End of the Affair, Graham Greene

The Professional, W.C. Heinz

On Boxing, Joyce Carol Oates

Shadow Box, George Plimpton

My Secret History, Paul Theroux

The Three-Pound Universe, Judith Hooper and Dick Teresi
